Sometimes life has such amazing timing. My husband had just decided he was going to foster a puppy (AKA say it's temporary, but fall in love with him on the drive home and decide he's staying forever). The puppy, now named Kylo, needed to be fixed shortly after his arrival with us. Before he even went to his appointment, my good friend from High School reached out to me about her new business. She and her husband created this awesome product for animals who have had a procedure or injury that requires a cone while they heal. She had experienced issues with the traditional cones when her sweet pup had a healing eye and managed to get out of (or get stuck in) other available products. Enter: Conesie – It's a onesie and a cone! The design prevents animals from being able to reach a paw up under their cone. For Kylo, it also really helped him understand he couldn't flail around and not clear doorways. They wanted a unique logo mark that wasn't too "cute" and would work in the clinical space. We knew we wanted to keep it primarily type based, clean, and so it would scale well since it would likely be small on tags. The imagery to explore was paw prints and cones. As always, I started with some sketches before moving into designs on the computer. I provided several concepts so we could hone in on the desired direction. After this first round, two directions were selected to move forward with. Adjustments were made to the dog in the cone to make it a more realistic. A great way to compare two logos you're deciding between to is see them on a business card and reversed in white on black. After they saw this, the clear winner was the option with the dog in the "O". Which I loved, so we moved onto photography inspiration and creating their brand guidelines. The color palette selected is bold and rich. The photography is vibrant with bright greens, sunny days, and happy dogs living their best lives. To further show how this color palette works together, I mocked up some business cards. I'm looking forward to seeing how their business develops and the branding supports their messaging! I love partnering with my amazing clients to make their vision a reality. If you're ready to launch a new business or would like to chat about refreshing your current branding, please reach out!
